WARNING: THIS IS A SCARY POST!
Steven and Morgan waiting for Trunk or Treat to start!
Kaia waiting for Trunk or Treat to start!
Kaia, severely disappointed that she can't go over to the neighbors house to play while waiting for Trunk or Treat to start!
She quickly is soothed by the distraction of crunchy fall leaves.
Kaia was a ballerina this year. I couldn't find a leotard small enough for her, so we went with a onesie and a tutu. She did have real ballet shoes that were tiny (so cute!)! However, everyone at Trunk or Treat thought she was a princess for Halloween. C'est la vie.
A ballerina, a monkey, and a witch…oh my!
It was pretty fun watching Kaia slowly grasp what Halloween meant. She quickly caught on that if you walk up to someone and said "Trick or Treat" that they would give her a piece of candy. She continued to do this even after we ran out of trunks…and then she started trick or treating the trick or treaters! The kids were really nice and gave her some candy out of their bucket. It was really interesting though how fast it took for Kaia to get candy greedy! There were a few costumes there that were a little spooky, and Kaia decided to face her fears and give them looks of "Yeah, right. Who do you think you're kidding?" She was giving them the crustiest faces ever!
Kaia was captivated by a candy necklace with a flashing pumpkin. She could not believe that she was allowed to chew and crunch on a "pretty."
Watching "Corpse Bride" after Trunk or Treat.
Later in the week, on a morning which Steven had to work (sigh…), I got up and switched the laundry, changed Kaia, got her breakfast, unloaded the dishwasher wilst Morgan started to throw a fit because he was hungry. I then changed Morgan, sat down and fed him. At about this same time, Kaia decided she needed more cereal. I told her that I would get her more cereal once I was done feeding Morgan. I switched Morgan to the other side and was dismayed by the sound of a diaper filling quickly. Kaia started throwing a fit. I finished feeding Morgan, got up and changed him again, came into the kitchen to find this:
She was not a happy camper and did not appreciate having to wait for seconds, which she didn't get because she threw her dishes around the room. Poor girl. She was sent to her room to take a nap because it was very clear by the sagging purple bags under her eyes that she didn't get enough sleep (she was up WAY before the crack of dawn). As she was laying in her bed, kicking the wall, and hitting her bed, Morgan sat in our room listening to the whole affair via the baby monitor while I folded some laundry.
His reactions were priceless:
She's one scary big sister when she's throwing tantrums! Poor Morgan kept startling. After giggling a bit and taking pictures, I finally turned off the baby monitor so he wouldn't have a heart attack.
Winter has come…which is always scary for me! It means staying trapped in the house, it means missing the sun, it means scary BYU-I drivers on campus, it means cold floors in the morning. But it does also mean cute baby bear buntings, which is not so scary at all:
Steven says he looks like an ewok. I completely disagree and think he looks like an adorable baby bear cub.
And this is what happens when I leave a bored tired husband alone in the same room as the camera:
Very scary, huh?!?
I've been busy as a bee getting some of the decorating done in the house. Will post pictures soon…just need to deep clean the house (which is a little scary right now…) and finish a few other projects! Ta!
