A few of our newest adventures..

First off, a few pictures of our most whimsical and darling girl, Kaia. The things she says just kills me on a daily basis. Kaia is such a kick in the pants! I'm glad I can start sharing her funny moments again! Here are pictures from the past few months...

Playing in the mud with "da kids." She absolutely adores our neighbors! I swear she would go live with the Tuttles or the Maughans if given the opportunity.

This girl would live in pajamas if she could!

Helping Steven sand down Bennett's dresser. She loves to help Steven with projects!
Drinking yogurt…she thought it was the most amazing thing that mom would give her yogurt in a cup!
Kaia was tired of a wet diaper she had on while having some quiet reading time after lunch. So she decided to change it herself and put on a swim diaper...
Kaia reminded Steven and I of a sumo wrestler. We were crying we were laughing so hard! Kaia couldn't figure out what the big deal was...
Kaia broke her sunglasses a while ago and has been playing with them ever since--using them as a headband or as regular glasses. When Steven got new glasses, Kaia demanded that she get to wear glasses, too. What a crack up...

Kaia has a bath and/or shower EVERY DAY. This girl lives for water. She recently has been known to put her bath toys and washcloth in time out. She also puts their noses in the corner and tells them that they have to go "ni-night, no lovies, no dinner, no ceedeeo (cereal), no books." This happens fairly often, and so I can only conclude that she has very ill behaved bath toys.

It snowed on the 7th of this month (I was having a very hard time coping with it…I just don't do well with long long winters…that come way too early…). Kaia kept going to the window and begging us to go outside and play in the snow. We didn't have boots or pants or gloves for her yet! Kaia kept putting my snow boots on thinking that wearing Mom's boots would solve the problem.

We didn't know quite what to do. Rose came to the rescue and let us borrow snow gear for the winter. I wanted to get a few pictures of Kaia donning all of her snow gear. You can tell in this picture that she's on the verge of tears…she just wanted to go outside and play with "doze kids!"

She keeps every moment full of energy…even when she's exhausted and can't seem to find the power to obey Mom and Dad...

We were able to fit in some family and maternity pictures at the beginning of this fall. They turned out great!

Steven and I have been busy at our hobbies…He builds…I decorate…I'll post pictures of each room as I finish them. So far, I have the sun room/book nook done. I am so close to getting other rooms done, but for now, I have to concentrate on school and my newest adventure.

Our newest adventure is having Morgan FINALLY come join our family. It's been such a relief to 1) not be pregnant 2) not have to worry about him coming too soon 3) not have to be in early labor 4) fit into clothes again 5) not run into things with my belly 6) and most importantly to have a handsome chap in my arms. :)

Weight: 6 lbs 15 oz
Length: 19.5 inches
Born at 12:34 am
Early labor lasted FOREVER
Labored in the hospital from 5:30 pm - midnight
Pushed for half hour
Steven caught the baby! He couldn't stop taking pictures of Morgan. He's one proud daddy. :)

Steven giving Morgan his first bath at the hospital.

Kaia came to meet Morgan the next morning. The first thing she noticed when she came in the room was Mom's awesome big sippy. And then she decided that baby brother was cooler. She is constantly kissing this baby! She is such a great big sister.

One very very very tired lass...

I had the nurses take Morgan while I took a shower and then a nap. Steven was out busy running Kaia from one fabulous friend to another (we are so blessed to have wonderful friends and neighbors who were willing to take Kaia for us while we were in the hospital). I woke up and they brought Morgan back to be fed (The nurses couldn't stop talking about how cute Morgan is…I guess during shift changes one of the constant reports from one nurse to the next was to find a way to come see him…). They had given him a faux hawk. He totally pulls it off well.

We were so happy to be going home, although I would have loved another day to rest before facing (eek!) taking care of two children. Morgan is so stinkin' small.

We got home and Steven went across the street to get Kaia. She bawled all the way home because she wanted to "stay home with Millie." She did not want to come home! This followed an episode of kicking, punching, crying, and hitting as I tried to take off her clothes and get her into a fresh diaper and pajamas. Kaia was so exhausted. As soon as we came into the living room, she changed her tune pretty quick! First thing she did was try to stick Morgan's binky in his mouth and put another blanket on him. Kaia's adjusting well and, though we have hiccups, she is starting to understand. :)

Cassie and Bennett came to visit on Friday! It was SO good to see them. Bennett and Morgan will be good buddies and close cousins I think!

As you probably noticed, Morgan is sporting an orange pumpkin complexion. We found out his billirubin level was too high and he had to be put on a billiblanket. Twenty-three out of twenty-four hours in the day, he looks like this:
I have given birth to a firefly.

Steven thinks it looks pretty awesome. Today we went in (again…) to check Morgan's billirubin level. It has come down a bit and he doesn't have to be on the blanket anymore. Yahoo! It's a little hard taking care of a baby who was attached to the wall. Nursing a firefly was also an interesting experience…

Things are going swell!
